Hmm, it has been a little over six hours since I sent them an email and I have yet to receive a response. Maybe they just don’t like negative criticism. Below is the email I sent them.

Hi there,

I recently purchased a jacket from your website. While it is exactly how I expected it to be and then some, I received a little surprise when the Fedex guy told me I had a $71.87 surcharge to pay. Customs Duties is what I believe it’s called. I asked why I was being charged this ridiculous amount, and he said it was most probably because your company, End Clothing, put ‘Jacket’ as a description and not ‘Gift.’

Now, I purchase pretty much everything on the internet and this is the very first time this has happened to me. This was my first and last purchase with End Clothing.

Citing low purchasing power and rising production costs, the government has decided to phase the penny out of existence starting this fall, when the Royal Canadian Mint will stop distributing the one-cent coin to financial institutions.

Apple’s App Store, along with Google’s Google Play and Amazon’s Appstore for Android, have introduced a lot of people to purchasing apps and software. I’m one of them.

Before getting my first iPhone in 2009, I had never bought a piece of software. Instead, like many people, I downloaded pirated versions off the internet. I couldn’t justify paying for something when I knew I could get it for free if I simply looked around for it.

After getting an iPhone, I realised that the developers behind these apps we were using daily are regular people like you and I. Some even solely rely on the sales of these sub five dollar apps as their main source of income, so why not support them? We are using their product so it only seems natural.

There has been a lot of talk lately about developers releasing new versions of their apps as paid updates even though customers bought a previous version, and to be totally honest I’m fine with that.

I think people see a $4.99 price tag on the internet as totally different from real life $4.99. When most people see it in the App Store they’re immediately turned off and go hunting for a free or cheaper alternative. When thinking about it, you’re most probably spending more money on an above-average cup of coffee at Starbucks every other day of the week.

Think about it: five dollars is, well, only five dollars.

Before I started working at my current job I never ever thought I’d try Microsoft’s search engine Bing. Why would I? Google was doing everything I needed it to, and anyway, I’m not the biggest fan of change when it comes to computer stuff.

But I guess our company’s webmaster doesn’t trust us with Google (why is totally beyond me), so we’re forced to use Bing as our search engine. And to be honest, it isn’t bad at all.

My biggest complaint with it is that I think of this guy every time I use it:
